ABOUT
“To be a farmer is to be a student forever, for each day brings something new.” – John Connell, The Farmer’s Son: Calving Season on a Family Farm, 2019. Keep ready to discover the story behind Cole Creek Farms.
COLE CREEK FARMS: OUR JOURNEY
At Cole Creek Farms, our mission is simple: To put the highest-quality, best-tasting beef from our N.C. pastures on our customers’ plates. Bass Hyatt, a fifth-generation Brasstown, N.C. farmer, has grown his farm from a subsistence cow herd in the 1950s to a cow operation producing Angus-Akaushi crosses.
For about 20 years, Bass raised only Angus cattle but recently decided to incorporate the Akaushi breed for their vigor, growthiness, and superior carcass quality. Quincey, Bass and Sandra’s daughter was born and raised on Seven Meadows farm. She, her husband Bruce, and their three children share the Hyatts’ love of agriculture, nature, and all the relationships formed along the farm-to-table journey. They are committed to preserving an agrarian way of life on their farm in Johnston County, the fastest-growing county in North Carolina.
FUN AT THE FARM
From farm chores to fun adventures, our family has grown up on the farm. Cole Creek at Seven Meadows is full of history and memories for the Church family.
